KRISHNA MATHURA GAMAN This oleograph depicts the scene of Krishna leaving his childhood home Vrindavan to arrive at Mathura to challenge Kamsa — his uncle who enslaved his parents Devki & Vasudev and was a tyrant king. Here, Krishna is seated next to Balram, his brother on a chariot while women from the village are trying to convince Krishna not to leave. Krishna Mathura Gaman 14" x 10" Sudama | 14" x 10" SUDAMA A devout Brahmin, Sudama was a boyhood friend & classmate of Krishna at the ashram of sage Sandhipani. After their education was completed, the two friends left the ashram and went their different ways in life, Because of his devotion to God and transcendental knowledge, he did not very much care for wealth. He was living in impecunious condition with his wife Suseela. Suseela beseeched her husband to visit Krishna, who was ruling Dwaraka, and ask for some riches so that they could live in comfort. So Sudama proceeded to Dwaraka on foot, with a small ft of chipped rice in a bundle of cloth. Upon seeing him, Krishna came out of the palace and welcomed him. He made him sit on the couch, washed his feet as a mark of respect, and offered fruits and drinks, Sudama at the delight of seeing his old friend, forgot to ask for any monetary help.
