SHREE KRISHNA YAMUNA PAAR Krishna was the son of Vasudev and Devaki, when his maternal uncle Kamsa, the wicked king of Mathura, tried to kill him. To prevent this, Krishna was smuggled on the day of his birth by Vasudev across the Yamuna River to Gokul to be raised by the leader of the cowherds, Nanda, and his wife Yashoda.
