HEIRLOOM ART-Unveiling the Legacy of Raja Ravi Varma
HARIHAR BETH Vishnu (Hari) — the preserver of the Universe, is the God of Vaishnavism, and Shiva (Haran), the destroyer of the Universe, is the God of Saivism. Though devotees see differences between the two Gods, the wise nd no difference. To express the unity between these two sects, Hari and Haran with their consorts Lakshmi and Parvati, are illustrated as meeting each other. The artist's representation of the fusion of the heads of an elephant and a bull is noteworthy.
