AMBIKA The divine mother Shakti is Ambika. Her weapons are the sugarcane bow, arrows of owers, the noose, and the goad. The sugarcane bow stands for the mind's faculty of perception, owers represent the ve elements attracting the ve senses. The noose is for binding or attaching, meaning that one should attach oneself to the benecial aspect of knowledge. The goad implies that dangerous knowledge should be controlled as an unruly elephant. Since she represents knowledge in the abstract form and is associated symbolically with the process and nature of knowledge, She is also known as Srividya or Auspicious knowledge.
