HEIRLOOM ART — Unveiling the Legacy of Raja Ravi Varma!
RAMA SAGARA DARPA HARAN Ram wanted to cross the Indian ocean to reach Lanka to ght with Ravana after the latter abducted Sita to his kingdom. But the sea was very rough and turbulent. Ram, in anger at seeing the state of the ocean, started releasing fearful arrows which pierced the waters, awakening mighty storms that disturbed the serpents underneath. When he was about to shoot the invincible arrow Brahmastra, to dry up the sea waters, the sky became densely clouded, reverberating with lightning and thunder. The sea king Varuna rose above the high tides beseeching Ram not to shoot the arrow and that he would calm down. Varuna's prominent wives Gauri and Varunani also rose above the waters requesting Ram's pardon. The panoramic view of the dark sea is seen with Ram feeling extreme wrath, ready to shoot the Brahmastra. Rama Sagara Darpa Haran (E) 20" x 14"
